The Sweeney (2012) Directed by Nick Love

The Sweeney directed by Nick Love is a remake of the popular 1970’s show about a police officer Jack Regan, who catches criminals by any means possible, even if it means he breaks the law himself. The Sweeney are the Flying Squad of London’s Metropolis Police Force nicked named after Sweeney Todd.

Jack Regan is played by Ray Winstone and this movie looks to be extremely raw with action packed scenes, explosions, and a villain to route for. The original TV series has been an inspiration to other movies and TV series such as The Wire, and Training day, where the movies are more about cops who act more like criminals to catch criminals but end up evil in the end.
